[Atrium]

[After the orientation, Nekomaru wanders the ship as if in a daze until he ends up walking around the atrium. He's a bit more listless than usual as he adjusts to the situation. It's like something out of sci-fi, and even more outlandish than his previous situation. But it's that previous situation which has him wary... What if this is another one of Monokuma's tricks? Except that there hasn't been any sign yet of the bear, or of any of his classmates.

He eventually settles onto a bench that he seems way to big for. Nekomaru looks down at his hands as he flexes his fingers slightly, and he thinks back to the last moments that he remembers at Jabberwork Island as he mutters aloud to himself.]

That fool better be alright...

[Training Facility]

[Once he gets over the initial funkiness, Nekomaru is mostly back to his usual self, and he makes his way to the training area. There wasn't a setup like this anywhere on the island, so all of this training equipment is like a sight for sore eyes!

After going through some warm-up exercises for his heart's sake, he leans against a wall with his arms folded and watches anyone else who files in and out of the area. He'll be ready to approach anyone if (a) they show any signs of any athletic talent or potential, and/or (b) if the person in question is struggling with their workout in some way. Time for the Super High School Level Team Manager to do some coaching!]

[...Restrooms]

[And eventually, Nekomaru decides to start off with his assigned job. You may be passing by one of the restrooms - or god help you, planning to use one - when sounds of a struggle come from within. A loudly growling man, parts of the bathroom breaking... It's intense.

Finally, the door swings open, and Nekomaru steps out with a grim expression on his face.]

...It seems that there's much work to be done here.

Of many a team and sports club... [He says proudly as he folds his arms.] I've taken on enough athletes to be known as the Super High School Level Team Manager, after all! But it doesn't stop with sports. I'm manage anyone who needs it!!

What a noble profession.

[ that's really cool?? she's never heard of a super high school level whatever. ]

The last thing I remember before arriving here was that I participated in the Nine Schools Competition. You might have liked to train some of the people who participated in the events there.

[Nekomaru laughs.]

Hahaha! I'm glad that you appreciate it. [Then he gives an amused hum as she talks about the competition, and he picks at his ear with one finger.]

The 'Nine Schools Competition'... I'm ashamed to say that I've never heard of that competition. But, of course, I'd be honored to help prepare anyone associated with something like that!

[But then he looks more curiously at her.]

Did you say that you participated, too? [She doesn't look very athletic, so now he's more curious about her.]

Oh, I did. [ miyuki looks at her side for her CAD but it's not there with her, so she has nothing to show. alas. ]

I joined the Mirage Bat competition, as well as the Ice Pillar Break.

But if you're never heard of the Nine Schools Competition, then you wouldn't know about those kinds of sports, would you?

[A curious eyebrow raises.]

I'm afraid that I haven't. Well I can guess at the latter one, but I haven't really seen the breaking of ice being performed as a sport outside of ice sculpting.

You'll have to enlighten me!!

I'd be happy to.

[ she stops this time from her pedaling and even stops the music playing to properly talk to nidai now. she's been disrespectful this whole time, ah... ]

The Mirage Bat is a women's only game, where participants fly around and use magic to hit the orbs in the air with our bats. Ice Pillar Break is where the participants have to defend twelve pillars of ice, while trying to break the opponent's before theirs can be broken.

All the sports are very fun, if I may say so myself.

[He listens patiently as she describes the events. Ice Pillar Break... well it's exactly what it sounds like, and it almost sounds like it could be a legit sport, except that even he's not sure if a normal human could actually manage to break an ice pillar, assuming that it's just with their own bare hands.

But Mirage Bat is a bit of a surprise, and his eyes widen as he takes that in. Of course, since he's now on a spaceship and saw some odd things even back on the island, he doesn't have to suspend too much disbelief to accept the existence of magic, at least. When he speaks, there's excitement at these sports.]

Now I like the sound of those events! They sound very interesting...

...And you say that magic is used, huh? Does that mean that you practice magical arts? [It definitely doesn't sound like stage magic.]

[yotsubas]

I do. I'm still a student at First High School, though.

[ miyuki just smiles and says nothing about how she's probably the best mage on earth. there's really a lot miyuki could brag about, but she's one of the most humble people ever, as well. the only thing she'd ever blatantly be obnoxious about is how great her big brother is.

There's nothing wrong with still undergoing studies! I'm a high school student too! ...If a Super High School Level one.

But that aside, it's impressive that you can wield magic and use for activities like that! I'll have to see a demonstration sometime!

[yotsubas]

I wouldn't mind giving you a demonstration, Mister...?

[ then she gasps and covers her mouth. she takes a few moments to square her shoulders, then she bows politely, lowing her head and upper body. ]

It's a pleasure to meet you.

As for me... well, my name is... NEKOMARU NIDAI!!! [His voice bombastically echoes throughout the gym.]

[ she can almost feel some of the equipment shake... oh my god... what a loud guy???? ]

What an introduction! I'm certain that everybody has heard you.

Ahahaha, thanks! I sure hope so! You can never make it as a team manager if you can't let your voice be heard, loud and clear!

Do you ever lose your voice?

NEVERRRRRRRR!!!!

...I can't imagine what it would be like to have to carry out on without communicating with my voice!

Then... you don't text people?

I do text people, whenever I can find a phone that can survive NEKOMARU NIDAI!! [Does he accidentally break his phones while texting too energetically.]

And I shout what I text at the same time! That keeps my voice from getting complacent!

[ oh my god. the only good thing about this is that miyuki isn't the type to judge anyone. ]

My, my, then you really can't lose your voice if you have such experience! I'm amazed!

[ she even claps her hands a couple of times. ]

Ahahaha! I have to admit, texting does have its uses. Especially when you have to communicate with someone when you're stuck on the toilet!

[ she immediately looks very puzzled. ]

Why would you need to do that?

[nodyinteam]

I know what you're thinking... that it's an amateur mistake. That when you're on the toilet, you should focus all of your attention and energy on taking a shit!!

But sometimes, it's worth the risk. Sometimes you need the support of the outside world to get through such a trying time@!

I wasn't thinking that, but... it just seems so indecent.

I know it may seem that way, but... sometimes indecent things happen during the process that is taking a decent shit!

[ he does have a point... miyuki nods once. ]

Even one such as myself becomes indecent in the bathroom... but I wouldn't text anyone while in there.
