[Being on the Alpha team got April the first heads up on the call for evacuation. Much as she wanted to stay behind and help, she knew how much of a hindrance she'd be in her condition. Is this how Leonardo felt? The question's the one she's been asking herself a lot during the evacuation.

Fending off the Eluvio med personnel hasn't been too hard. All hands are needed for the all the refugees still coming in. For now April's making do with the hasty self applied patch bandage on her cheek. It might not cover up the rest of the abrasions, dried up blood over healing wounds on her arm, nor the bruises that's starting to show up.

Adrenaline made her able to do her job down there and buy the Beta team time, but now that it's over? She's feeling the fatigue. Doesn't stop her from assisting with the injured Fek and Trilk where she can. It's a role she's familiar with.]

How's this one? [She asks as she approaches with the med kit she's been using, the third one now. But then she fully sees who it is that's in there too.] Yuuri! You're helping out too?

[Not getting the full low down on who volunteered for the evac teams finally strikes.]

Um. [Yuuri says, because how else are you supposed to respond to that?] Your friends beat each other up? And that's normal?

[What kind of friends do you have, April...]

Weirdly enough, I actually got out of it all okay. [Rubbing at his arm, as if still disbelieving of that himself, Yuuri smiles at her ruefully.] It's just... a lot to take in. What happened the last few days. What about you?

Yeah. I mean it's supposed to be sparring, but rough housing happens between brothers.

[Dumb friends. Very dumb friends.]

I'm glad you're. Things kind of got out of control down there. Like, almost entirely. There was a sandstorm and a fissure that we fell into, then the fek and trilk fight I had to do. Thankfully I wasn't alone. Alpha team had a good leader.

[Even wears blue. A plus in April's book.]

...I wanted to stay and help evacuate, but I could hardly stand up.

[yokunaru]

Oh. [Though his confusion isn’t completely gone, that at least makes a little more sense.] I wouldn’t know. I only have an older sister and we’ve never acted like that before.

[What she says next makes him stare at her, though, completely taken by surprise.] Wait, you were on the alpha team? [And then, more alarmed--] You were injured that badly?

Then you two have to be really good siblings. [April smiles at that. Of course Yuuri does, he's been a sweetheart compared to three and half of the turtles.]

Yeah. We gave a good fight. Still kind of hurts though. [She lightly undoes just the top portion of the white bandage on her cheek to show how it's starting to darken into a bluish/purple coloring.] The rest of it, well, let's just say I'm probably doing better than the survivors you guys picked up.

[yokunaru]

[Yuuri squirms a little at that, feeling a flicker of guilt.] Mari's great. We used to be closer, but I moved to America to train for a few years, and we didn't keep in contact much the whole time. [His fault, he realizes now. He hadn't made much of an effort to keep up with anyone, really.]

You should still be careful. [Yuuri frowns at her with concern.] Did you even have those looked at before you started helping everyone else in here?

[This might just be the first time she's ever heard Yuuri's tone be on the serious side.]

You were in another country. I barely kept in touch when I was just in another state.

[World-threatening aliens are being excluded from her statement, because that changes the sentiment entirely. Oops.]

Uh. [The universal word for "No." tbh.] I was actually coming to the med bay, but they were already prepping for the refugees. So I started helping and, well, still here.

[Helping. She even holds Yuuri's chin still with her finger while looking from cheek to cheek to see if he's got anything that needs looking at.]

[yokunaru]

[Yuuri continues to frown at her, only shaking her off when she's already seen that he's fine. Probably healthier than she is, if they're honest.]

That doesn't mean you shouldn't get it looked at anyway. [He pauses, an uncertain look crossing his face now.] I--I'm taking some first aid lessons from a doctor right now. Maybe I could take a look, if there's no one else open...?

[ninponeil]

[He's covered and well enough, so April can't divert from herself any longer, and she is rather tired and sore.]

I haven't had a chance to change my bandage or dress any wounds. [Too crazy with the mission ending up like that.] But if you've got a minute I wouldn't say no to a doctor in training.
