[After a handful of people expressed interest in learning how to make Valentine's Day chocolates, somehow what had started as tentative plans between a couple friends turned into a full on workshop.

The prep took a couple days, but in the end things were ready! The kitchens of Vkusno! Shaved Ice were secured for melting down the chocolates. The tables and chairs in the shop proper were all equipped with chocolate molds, decoration toppings, and other tools for anyone who stopped by to use. All that was left was to send out the invites via network:]

( he leans in closer, evaluating the baseball chocolate in question. Victor vaguely realises he doesn't strictly remember what a baseball looks like. it was round, and white he thinks; did they have coloured stitching? not that the chocolate is going to inform him of those kind of details. he's just trying to summon an imagine into his head.

That's right! I didn't want to spare any detail. That way anyone who got these chocolates would know exactly what kinds of balls they're putting in their mouths!

[genice]

( he has to laugh again, thinking to himself, Chris would love his guy. )

That's a kindness, to be certain... which ones are these?

( he's gesturing to volleyballs. )

Volleyballs! Have you ever played that one before?

[genice]

Nope! ( he announces so cheerfully, flashing Nekomaru a grin. ) That's the one you can play on the beach too, right?

Well you should give it a try one time! But I think you have the right one in mind... It's the sport where you use your hands to volley the ball back and forth over a net!

[genice]

I'm not really interested...

( He says with a shrug; Victor, too cut and dry when it comes down the line. still, he seems pleased he recognised the sport once named. see! he pays more attention that he realises! )

Yes, that one! With no racquets.

You're not? Just like that?! At least you know your stuff...

Tell me, Victor. Is there any sport out there that you yearn to try, or is it only figure skating in that heart of yours?!

[genice]

( he's such a simple man. such an earnest man. such an athlete who really just was happy with His Sport, though: )

For fun Sure, I suppose I'd try just about anything. But for keeps? No, there's only room for the ice in my heart.

( tapping a closed fist against the centre of his chest. unlike Madonna, it's not the freezing that he believes keeps your heart closed off; it's what you do when in that chill air. )

Ha! Well I'm not trying to seduce you to a different sport. Let it be known that NEKOMARU NIDAI is no homewrecker!

[He folds his arms with a grin.]

But any sport you'd want to try for fun, I could set it up!

( he ends up laughing at that; ah, but it's more true than it is false, isn't it? Victor cannot be seduced away from the ice, except, perhaps, by Yuuri. and that's a seduction wrapped up in a life and love that also includes the ice.

Why not invite me along if you're arranging something for easier audiences? I imagine there's some number of the people here who enjoy all kinds of sports.

Of course! I've been thinking of trying to put something together sometime, to let the steam off! It looks like a lot of people around here can benefit from it!

Well they have to be! If they're cooped up in this spaceship and not resorting to sports to release all of their pent-up feelings...

I'm not exactly sure, but we have enough people here that we could easily get some kind of a team sport together!

[genice]

Huh.

( he's not wrong, but the most "team" Victor's ever done is goofing around in practice lifting Yuuri, next to the less literal part of being "Team Russia" and all competing together in a sense... and against each other literally... )

One that involves balls? ... Beach volleyball sounds fun!

[That's close enough!! And maybe Victor can learn more about the value of teamwork!!]

Hahaha! I wonder where you got that idea. [He says that sarcastically before he goes on.]

It's definitely one of the easiest sports to play... It's a splendid choice!

Oh, here or there.

( he says airily, as if the sarcasm didn't register at all... even though it certainly had. he brings his hands to his chest and lets his eyes light up, more enamoured of the idea of the beach involved than the volleyball. )

Then whenever we find a planet with a good beach? Game on!

You know the beach isn't the most necessary part of the sport... but if we do find a place with a nice beach, you can bet I'm setting that up!

It's not beach volleyball without the beach...

( this is his priority. we're so sorry, Nekomaru. please bear with this guy ten years your senior who raelly just wants a beach episode, apparently. )
