[ Feeling the hand—it feels like a hand: Cullen doesn't understand aliens at all and isn't prepared to consider that it might be anything else—touch his, he closes his fingers around it and rises to his feet, pulling the man up along with him. Once on his feet and mostly certain the other is, he lets him go. ]

They would not have difficulty lighting their vessel if they used candles like everyone else.

[ There's a note of haughty disdain in Cullen's voice as he says it. Not that the method of lighting the ship isn't convenient, what with never having to go around lighting candles and blowing them out, but candles are dependent on nothing but their wicks. He still doesn't understand what in the Void happened to these lights. ]

Why they've come to rely on this unreliable technology is beyond me.

[ Oh, wow. He can't say he's heard any opinions like that in the last few decafeebs. Maybe even longer. Coran's thrown off for a hot moment, which he uses to straighten his jumpsuit back out. There's. Not much point of it, but it's a habit. ]

[ There's only one conclusion he can make to that, though it doesn't really fit with the size of the hand that took his or the impact the man made when he ran into him. So it's with a little dubiousness that Cullen asks; ]

A dwarf? [ Well, things that no one's ever had to ask him before, volume 1. Makes sense with the lighting issues they're having, though. ]
