WHO: Dave Strider and Emil
WHERE: in or around the cafeteria
WHEN: February 15th
WHAT: being stressed in space could make anyone hungry, apparently.
WARNINGS: Dave's language maybe
Yuuri had given Emil some leftover chocolates, but of course he made short work of those. Chocolate wasn't easy to come by in his world, and sweets of any kind were pretty exciting. That wasn't really enough to tide him over, and he decided to take advantage of the low lighting and most people trying to stay put. There wouldn't be as much crew out and about, and that sounded like a good time for him to put himself out there more, show his face, and get used to going places alone.
After all, so many of his new friends were right. He didn't want to stay cooped up all the time when there was so much to see and do here.
He'd been on his guard when he first floated out on his own, but after getting most of the way to his destination without being seen, he paid less attention to what he was doing and flew a bit faster. What are the odds someone was going to be in his way by this point, right?
Which is probably how he ended up colliding at full speed into someone else who apparently had the same idea.

Dave puts his hands on his hips, like he's accomplished something great by achieving that line of thought. Also because he feels a little awkward. His bravado in real life is not what it is over the communicators, that's for sure.
"For a little guy you're built like a fucking canonball, F-Y-I. I think you bruised my rib. What are you in such a hurry for, anyway?"
no subject
He still sounds a bit sulky, but this guy isn't attacking or anything, so he lets himself relax a little.
"Sorry I ran into you like that. I really didn't see you. If you want, I could try to heal you..."?
no subject
He says that like he doesn't pointedly avoid the cafeteria on a crowded day for different but similar reasons. He isn't worried about his appearance so much as he's worried about his entire self, but whatever.
"Whatever." Which means it's fine in teen, so its fine. "I'm just giving you shit. I didn't break anything, even if your head is made of concrete." He gives his side another rub, anyway. "So you've got the magic touch, then?"
no subject
"You could say that... although I'm trying to use my powers to be helpful, as much as I can anyway."
He really can't believe how calm this guy is. Everyone else who's seen Emil has needed a moment, and that was after being warned that he looked strange. After a moment he finally just asks.
"How come you're not scared of my... of me?"
no subject
"Probably why they brought you here, then. Not that they seem to have a super strict abduction code, all things considered." If they abducted Dave of all people, they were already scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Dave's attempt to be impassive takes a turn for the worst when Emil very sincerely interrogates him. Now his brows shoot up and he looks momentarily bewildered before he shakes it off.
"If you're meant to be scary then I'm world renowned body builder and actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger." It is impossible to sound more incredulous. "You're just a little carapace thing, aren't you? Not a ghoul or some shit? Here from the underworld to taunt and bamboozle me? Because if you're a ghoul, you're pretty shit. No offence."
no subject
He's already resigned himself to only understanding every other word out of Dave's mouth, and the gist he's getting is that the dude's just not that freaked out by him. Rude or not, that goes a long way toward helping him relax a little.
"Anyway, I guess if you're here, you're looking for food too. Do you wanna, maybe... get something?"
no subject
He expects Emil won't want much to do with him, given that he really did razz the poor guy hard and he didn't seem to take it very well either. He's pretty damn surprised when he seems to want to stick around, and he'll take any chance he gets to talk to someone who isn't himself.
"Sounds like you're asking me on a date." He puts his hands on his hips, effectively ruining the moment. "Whatever. Seems kind of weird to go separate ways at this point. What do you usually eat?"
no subject
"I like pasta, but I've tried some of the other stuff here, and none of it's been terrible. Weird, maybe but I'm not complaining. What about you?"
