<sub>[ Perhaps he was feeling extra generous, because anytime something went horribly wrong, Karamatsu just put forth the step further effort into doing something nice, hoping karma or Fate or something profound like that would turn his luck around.

It never does.

After being hopelessly turned on in Luxuria and not really able to find a good outlet (lol) for that, he felt like maybe he just hadn't played his cards right. The best thing to do was to eat food— it was almost like a coping mechanism for Karamatsu, because food always made him feel content when he was feeling his worst.
For sometime, now, he had been watching another guy across the restaurant they both coincidentally decided to dine at. This guy looked like a lot of stuff that Karamatsu wasn't, and to possibly cancel out and conceal his feelings of jealousy, he told the waitress he would pay for Lucas' meal.

Look, he's a complicated little guy, okay? There's a lot of emotions packed up in that 5'2" body.

Karamatsu turns away from the waitress and Lucas when she informs him that somebody else paid for his meal, gesturing in Karamatsu's direction. If Lucas doesn't say anything to him, he'll probably assert himself in hopes of getting any positive recognition. ]</sub>

[ The kind of food Lucas experiences in Gula is unlike anything he's ever tasted before. It takes him a while to order off the menu, finally settling on pizza, recommended by the waitress (which Lucas pronounces wrong, but he'll get it right next time). He discovers he likes pizza a lot, having a whole one to himself. Still feeling hungry afterwards, Lucas orders a dessert, a huge chocolate sundae. He's never eaten so much in his entire life. And the worst part is, he's eaten all this unhealthy food but burning it off in the ship's training area won't be a problem, so Karamatsu probably has every right to hate someone like him.

Confusion takes over when Lucas is told the meal has already been paid for by a mysterious stranger from across the restaurant. He's even pointedly looking away when the waitress is identifying him to Lucas.

It's not that he isn't grateful, a free meal is a very generous gift, but not knowing the stranger's motives arouses suspicion in Lucas. He can't leave the restaurant without talking to him first, so he makes his way over and sits in the empty seat opposite Karamatsu. ]

Is there something you want from me? [ Straight and to the point. ]

_{[ Karamatsu ignores Lucas as he comes over to him, but he knows he is making a movement to talk to him. Stay cool, stay calm. He hunches over slightly, peering at Lucas for a moment from behind his sunglasses, and then, his lips twist upwards in a smile. ]}

A conversation, is all. Ah, I cannot help but feel as if it might have been Fate that I was drawn to paying for you meal. Yes, it was I, who paid for a complete strangers meal..!

I do not suppose you're also a person who was aboard the Eluvio and we just have not had a chance to meet.
_{[ see, he's not .. bad at meeting people, but usually they want nothing to do with him a few minutes into the conversation. ]}

[ My god indeed. Was the man trying to show off by announcing to everyone within earshot that he'd paid for Lucas' meal? And what on earth were those things over his eyes? Lucas has never seen anything like them before. ]

You often pay for strangers' meals in exchange for conversation? [ Maybe the man was lonely... ]

I am aboard Eluvio. And my arrival is recent. [ Curiosity gets the better of them and he gestures to the man's sunglasses. ] Why do you hide your eyes?

_{[ You have no idea how lonely he is. Karamatsu laughs lowly, pushing up on the bridge of his sunglasses once it is brought to the topic of conversation. ]}

Heh. Eyes are the windows to souls. Perhaps there are things I do not want those unworthy to see.. just yet.
I see. Welcome aboard. If I were you, though, I would keep a watch out.. be close to the ones you love.

<sub>[ After finding Rey's body torn apart into pieces and having the ship halfway shut down from something, Karamatsu finds it best to stick together. He is from a set of sextuplets, after all, and all six of them have been together all their lives.

You must have an interesting soul. [ Lucas comments with some amusement. But his mood turns slightly despondent at the mention of loved ones. Love is a bit of a sore spot for him at the moment. He almost murdered the woman he loves - who isn't even his wife. It's all a bit of a mess, really. At least he has time here to sort his head out. ]

You say that as though they are here.

[ He's in for a big shock. ]

Why do you warn me? [ What dangers should he expect? ]

<sub>[ Karamatsu is a big oxymoron and also just... a moron. He contradicts himself through his inward feelings and outward actions / monologue all the time. So here he is confessing his own recognition in his own stupid, dramatic way.

He rakes his hair with his nails, wanting more than anything to eat some more food, but if he keeps this up, he'll be broke in no time. ]</sub>

I warn you.. so that you may prepare yourself to be somebody to watch out for those who cannot.
If your loved ones are not here, you are fortunate. Is there anyone specific whom you want to protect the most? Is there anyone specific that you love?

[ Is that what this is? The young man bribing him with food to be his bodyguard? Lucas probably wouldn't say no to such a job... for a price. And good meals. ]

Of course not. I do not need protection from anything physical. What I do need protection is for my own heart, my own feelings.

I don't intend on meeting people frivolously. Of course not, why would I waste such time when I could try to get to the core of a person— upon first impression?

[ Lucas has never met anyone like him, that's for sure. There's some sense to his ridiculous theatrics though, oddly enough...

Not that Lucas is going to give him answers, though. Even if it's an easy enough question, especially when you're married. ]

Lucas wonders where Karamatsu's brothers are, but at least he knows they're identical. That's always handy to know. ]

I lost my memory for a short while... I couldn't even remember my name. So a woman who found me decided a name for me, after her hometown.
