WHAT: Alpha and Beta teams begin their mission.

Catch-all mingle log while Alpha and Beta travel together. Toss up a header for a specific day or event to keep things better organized and then everyone can tag around in that.

(Once we figure out when the sandstorm and fall into the gorge happens to split everyone up, we can add that too to close out the big group log.)

That's par for the course given her past team "excursions".]

[April slides the new knifes into the sheath on her suit, right next to her tanto.]

April O'Neil. [She holds out her hand.] Nice to meet you.

Carolina. I think you're with me on Alpha team, which means we'll be fine without ammo.

[Firm. Good, she likes it when someone displays resolve. That's the shared trait around her team/family back home.]

You sound pretty confident. I am a good shot, but I'm not too shabby with close combat weapons and fighting if I do say so myself.

[April knows she's the youngest, but that's not stopping her from rolling up the sleeves of her yellow striped black jumpsuit.]

Really? Hand-to-hand's my speciality and I know one of my boys can stick to a knife if that's all he's got, so we'll see how well you fit in.

[ april's obviously young, but so was carolina when she was selected for project freelancer and all the extra crap that came along with that. she doesn't expect the girl to be freelancer good, but the little smirk on her face says she's interested in watching how april fights anyway. ]

[Even she knows how much the want to impress was in her tone, maybe more than the pride about her improving skills.]

If you ever want to spar sometime I'm your girl. None of my friends are here, so I can't really practice our martial arts together.

New friend that is actually human though. That's worth a lot more to her.]

Can I ask why you volunteered?

[ that just gets an awkward shrug at first, carolina trying to find a worthy answer. why did she volunteer? just because she could, mostly. but that's not very inspiring. ]

It's the sort of thing that I'm good at. I wouldn't want to see anyone not come back from this because their team wasn't as qualified as they thought they were.
