WHAT: Alpha and Beta teams begin their mission.
WARNINGS: TBD

Catch-all mingle log while Alpha and Beta travel together. Toss up a header for a specific day or event to keep things better organized and then everyone can tag around in that.

(Once we figure out when the sandstorm and fall into the gorge happens to split everyone up, we can add that too to close out the big group log.)

No offense, Captain. I just wasn't sure if they were lying about that or not. I'm taking their intelligence with room for a large margin of error until we actually see what's waiting for us down there.

None taken. [ It takes a lot to offend Cassian, or at least specific attacks against specific people, and this sort of thing? Not on the list really. ]

That's probably for the best, considering none of their officers are involved in this any further than providing us with ammo and pointing us in the right direction.

I'm sure they have a reason. Not any sort of trustworthy reason, but something. [ a little what can you do tilt of her head. ] The least they could have done was plan to drop us off at the door, in my opinion.

Well they gave us not enough ammunition, not enough information, and probably not enough water. [ Cassian shrugs, wry smile. ] I'd ask what the worst is that could happen but I know good and well what that is.

If anyone shows up who doesn't know what the worst that could happen is, I'm not letting them on the drop ship. It's almost impossible to keep people alive when they don't understand what their risks are and I'm not bringing back bodies.

[ ideally, because everyone survives. alternately, because if any team members start dying, she's leaving them to keep the others moving. ]

I don't envy you your position. [ He's been in it enough times, thanks, and he can better watch his own ass if he's not having to worry about anyone else's.

Cassian turns and nods towards the tall black and silver droid standing off to the side. ]

That's my friend Kay. If something happens to me, he'll deal with it.

[ Cassian gives a little shake of his head. ] I did not build him, but I did reprogram him.

Alright. You never know, with synthetics.

[ she doesn't want to be rude, but she really never knows where to start, considering her past experiences. ]

I don't know anything about your history on the subject. [ Still. Cassian gives a little nod. ] Kay will do everything he can to ensure my safety, including but not limited to ignoring any command you may give him. He won't do it to put the others at risk, but there is a hierarchy for him as far as who matters when.
