WHERE: All over. And the Enterprise.
WHEN: Backdated to February 10th
WHAT: Tony is a paranoid bastard and goes on an adventure in the suit
WARNINGS: Tony
In between waking up (alive) in the middle of space, with no chance of going back to whatever the fuck might be left of his world, his friends, and making his presence known on the network, Tony decides that he is going to make the best of this ridiculous ship and space. Not that he believes that he was brought here by accident, oh no, there is far too much kept in the shadows and far too little information handed out here for things to be on 'accident' as far as he is concerned.
And the suspicions weren't exactly unfounded, especially when he delved further into the communications logs that he could get a hold of (read: could hack into) and he found out about the mess of a mission that had happened just prior to his arrival.
Yeah. Something was up but--
Well, maybe he was just paranoid.
Either way, the genius knows that, if he wants to get a head start on this place, he has to know it. And has to make sure that his suit is up to the task of carting him around in space. Theoretically, it was fine, it had worked in space before, but-- paranoia, right?
So Tony has gone on a little exploration of the ship, inside and out. He has FRIDAY fully integrated into his suit thanks to his STARKphone still being in pieces on the desk in his room (he was going to find a communication device to splice into it, he was) and he intended to make sure that there was a rendering of whatever space he could get into stored in the phone.
He was going to have to make himself a private server sooner rather than later. And cloud. And probably network.
Shit, he had his work cut out for him.
But first, exploration!
Tony dons the suit, shifts it to stealth mode and wanders his way down to the hanger. Firstly because, he might as well start from the bottom, and secondly--
There is a low, mechanical sounding whistle as Tony looks out at one of the space ships that happens to be flying with the Eluvio. It is pretty fucking spectacular looking, in that way that expertly crafted machinery could be.
"FRIDAY, you think it will be frowned upon if I took a look at her more closely?"
If it were possible to hear an eyeless artificial intelligence roll its non-existent eyes, Tony is sure he would have heard it right then.
Would you like me to ask the ship out for you, Boss?
"Nope, just gonna go say hi myself, I think."
And with that, Tony is throwing himself into the void (more or less literally) with only the vague hope that the suit hasn't been tampered with (his initial diagnostic didn't come up with anything, and FRIDAY said that it was good, so--) and a low, whoop of joy as he was airborn. Spaceborn. Whatever.
Incoming, USS Enterprise, there is an Iron Man coming aboard.
[ ooc: Clearly you may come across Tony in the suit wherever you would like to. The shit on the Enterprise is the closed bit. Because... uh. Whatever. Also, YEAH I KNOW THIS IS LIKE A WEEK OUT OF DATE I'm so sorry. ; ; ]

Still, he usually expects a warning of some sort prior to any visit. And by 'warning' he means a call or a text, not a literal warning as an alarm announcing INTRUDER ALERT goes off, warning both Jim and Bones of someone just boarding the shuttle bay area. He takes off running immediately, of course, making sure to grab a phaser pistol on the way just in case.
He barges into the mostly empty area in a rush. Usually there's no one there, as it's not fundamental to keep the ship running, but he rushes in to find... a man? Well, man-sized, at least. It's either a robot or a sort of android, or a man on a highly advanced suit. Either way, Jim doesn't really welcome the random and unannounced appearance, and maybe he's just paranoid enough that his automatic reaction is to lift up the phaser and point it at the new arrival, keeping himself in front of Bones just in case the intentions are hostile for whatever reason.
"Talk fast. Who are you and what are you doing on my ship?"
no subject
Doctors should not hurt anyone.
But then. Not every doctor had something so important to protect. Because as he waited to reach the floor, all he could think about was Jim running in phaser in hand like the big damn hero. Alone. Which was why he ran into the shuttle bay, phaser set to stun not that far behind Jim. His brow furrowed at the sight of the armored humanoid there, aiming at it while staying quiet.
Why hadn't the ship warned them of the proximity instead of waiting to the last damn minute?

"Ow, wow, Friday, darling, what--"
And then there are two men with fucking guns pointed at him and what the hell, this is not what he was looking for today wow.
There is a mechanical sigh before the faceplate of the armour flips up, revealing Tony's face looking more than a little amused and maybe a little annoyed.
"Friday, was there a reason you failed to tell me the ship was inhabited?" He speaks as he holds up his hands, a gesture that would be placating and 'don't shoot' innocence if you are unaware of the fact that it puts his repulsors right at your face.
You didn't ask, Boss.
The voice comes from within the suit, just barely audible to the men before him.
Her answer makes Tony roll his eyes before he gives a wry look to the men. "Sorry about that, I was unawares that this ship was considered outside the general jusrisdiction of the Eluvio." He handwaves absently towards the bigger ship, annoyance clear on his face. "Names Tony though, recently found myself space-napped and, well, here I am. Exploring. Possibly looking for a way off, possibly just poking my noise in places, whatever."
Not that there was much of a difference. He glances between the two, brow going higher.
"And you two are?"
no subject
"If you'd gone to the trouble of sending a message to the ship, then you'd know," Jim offers, not at all helpfully at this point, but he is a little pissed and still on edge, so. "We're not opposed to visits but we do like knowing they're coming."
He lowers his pistol finally, though not easing up on the grip. He doesn't think the guy's here to attack them, for what it's worth, but he's not so stupid that he'd just trust him blindly right off the bat.
"Captain James T. Kirk," then nodding towards Bones. "Dr. Leonard McCoy. How did you get into the ship?"
no subject
Regardless, even if he lowered the weapon, he kept it in hand at his side as Jim talked to the stranger. Tony? Whoever he was, he really needed a healthy dose of manners. "Didn't your parents teach ya how to knock?" Rolling his eyes, he moved to stand just behind Jim at his side.
Nodding once with the introduction, he glanced back at Jim and asked in a low voice. "Anyway we can check if he really is a new arrival?"
no subject
Even as the guns are lowered, Tony can still tell that the other two are rather on edge and really, that kind of makes him like them a little more. Because people who trust too easily? They were either really dumb or faking it.
Flicking his gaze between the two, Tony snorts. "Uh, I flew over, asked the ship very nicely", meaning he hacked it. "To open her beautiful doors for me and walked in? How else are you supposed to get on board?" There is a pause where he casts a glance around before smirking at Kirk. "Captain you say? She's beautiful, what's her name?"
Look, you want to know how to make Tony like you? Have beautiful technology.
As the doctor stands closer behind Kirk, Tony lets his gaze flicker between the two. It was... interesting. Yeah, let's call it that. To put the other at ease, Tony lets the suit fall away, and he steps out, leaving the armour standing behind him, mimicking the posture of the captain and the doctor. He tugs at his dog tags. "These help you out at all? I was told I wasn't allowed to go anywhere without them, not gonna lie, seems a little creepy and Big Brother is watching to me but, until I know the rules, I ain't gonna break 'em."
no subject
"You ask the captain," he offers pointedly, eyebrow raised. "Which is what she would have done if you really had asked her." Don't you try your bullshit on him. He knows his ship, alright. As for the name, he doesn't answer for now. Not like Tony needs to know it just yet. He turns his head to Bones instead, nodding at the doctor's suggestion, then back to the stranger as he steps out of his suit.
Which only really surprises him more, and he nearly startles when the suit's just left behind like an armor. Talk about beautiful technology... it's like a space suit, only it can actually fly and be perfectly controlled while doing so. But that's something to be awed about later. Right now he eyes the tag and nods, free hand reaching out. "Let me have a look."
no subject
Not that he wanted to. That took effort and gettin’ to know someone. Granted, His ask for a name made him snort. “Either you can’t read or you’re just an idiot.” The name was only written across the saucer clear as day and if the guy was flyin’ about in space and missed it? Well, let’s just say Leonard is unimpressed.
His eyes moved to the tags and then back to Jim. He didn’t like the idea of Jim getting closer, but at least he ditched the metal tincan armor. Whatever the hell it was. He just looked at it with a lot of distrust as he often did most technology that wasn’t medical. Granted, where he was not entirely impressed, one glance of Jim told him his best friend was enamoured.
Good lord. If the guy was a friendly, this could go one of two ways. They’d either get on great and talk about their love of metal objects or hate each other cause of that competitive spirit. Not that he was lookin’ forward to either outcome to be honest.

There is a static noise from within the suit before: Sometimes it is nice to watch you fumble, Boss.
And that just makes Tony roll his eyes. Yeah yeah, he built his AI's to sass him, sometimes it was nice to be around equally intelligent and assholish beings okay. When Kirk tells him that he should have asked the ship, an eyebrow twitches up, something like a smile curling at his lips. Yeah, he likes this guy. He also likes the Doctor, he turns his gaze to him at the sarcasm and, after a beat, starts laughing.
"Yeah, not an idiot, just wasn't looking to see if there were names on the ship, sorry Grumpy Cat." And Tony have the audacity to wink at him then as he stepped closer to Kirk, the dog tags dangling from his hands. As he did, he turned to look at his suit. "Friday, darling, do you mind asking this beautiful ship what her name is? Only if she wants to tell us."
Then he looks back to Kirk and McCoy, something in his eyes saying 'challenge accepted'.
It only takes a second before the suit speaks, Friday's feminine lilt speaking up. Her name and designation is the USS Enterprise, registration number NCC-1701-A, spacecraft class constitution. She kindly asks that you do not do that again. I am inclined to agree, Boss.
Yeah, don't mind the slight mad man laughing now because of course his AI is making friends with other sassy ships. Of course.

An eyebrow raises when Tony winks at Bones, but he says nothing to it, just taking the tags as they're offered and taking a step back again, just for good measure. Lifting up his wrist comm, he hooks up Tony's tag into it, so he can at least take a look at his information.
"Anthony Edward Stark," he says almost casually. Because hey, look at that Mr. Smartass, you're not the only one who can find out full names. "Earth, early 21st century... he got here a few days ago." Said as he turns to the side and glances at Bones, pulling the tag back out. Because he might want to know who this guy is but he's not going to do the same he did and go snooping around where he shouldn't.
"I'm not going to let you poke around my ship, so what else do you want?"
no subject
And what was up with all the stupid nicknames? He gave up years ago on the one Jim gave him, but he decided it best not to even address this one for right now.
Instead he watched the exchange and let his eyes shift back to Jim when he turned to look at him. So, now they had a name for their uninvited guest. Letting his eyes drift over to the armor again, he could easily realize that for the moment, he wasn’t going to pull anything. If he was, he wouldn’t have stepped out of that contraption. So he settled into the at ease position, his arms moving to cross over his chest in a clear state of annoyance over the whole ordeal.
“So, does that mean you’re gonna give him a guided tour? Cause I get the feelin’ he’s not just goin’ to politely step off the ship and leave.” He looked way too persistent for that. And boys and their damn toys. Honestly, he rather do anything but escort this guy around, but once again he was reminded that Jim might need back up. “Regardless, I’d say insist that tin can be left in here if he wants to see anything other than this area.”
i need to
Too bad they keep shutting her out with technology she's never encountered or even fathomed before. Fuckers.
"Háblame, c'mon, don't do me like this..." SECURITY BREACH DETECTED... TERTIARY SYSTEM LOCK ACTIVATED... AUTHORIZED ISC ELUVIO ENGINEER REQUIRED FOR REACTIVATION... "Yeah, yeah, I heard you the first two times. Man, I'm losing touch—"
A pause, catching something out of the corner of her eye, the holo-screens at either side of her swept away with a quick wave of her hand. Someone else visiting the hangar at this relative time of night only comes as a bit of a surprise. By Earth standards, she guesses, realizing that her point is kind of moot as she thinks it, but there's too much going on in her head to give much of a shit about whether she should be mincing timezones. She's already factored in interruptions.
So she turns, seeks the disturbance, and finds...
Well. Okay.
Not what she'd been expecting at all, a wide look up at the suit of armour. An omnic? Here?
"Well, look what the cat dragged in. Seriously, it must be a lucky month for me, 'cause Eluvio's getting more thoughtful by the hour with all the presents they've been giving me." This, unfortunately, doesn't sound as flattering as it should. "You can stay where you are, if you don't wanna run into any... Inconvenient malfunctions."
yes YAAAAAS
For a moment, he almost wished he could sleep normally.
Almost. But it's gone as soon as it comes and--
Boss, there is a disturbance at the access station around the corner.
"Are you monitoring their systems, you beautiful creation of mine?" There is laughter in his voice as he moves towards where Friday has highlighted on the display in the helmet, a curl of a smile on his face beneath the metal.
Only as best I can Boss. They are very good at keeping me out of the systems, however, it is not difficult to pick up the security breach notification.
That... makes sense. Sadly. That just means that this is something of a challenge, that Tony is going to have to try harder to get past the damn lines and traps this place has put up to get to the bottom of, well, everything. Not that he was a paranoid guy or anything. Tony is just coming around, and he swears there was a flare of energy from where there is now... just a woman. That was interesting. Tony is opening his mouth to be his usual charming self when--
"Whoa, that sounds like a threat there darling. Or perhaps a come on, if it is the latter, it needs a bit of work, I mean, I'm not going to say no, but--"
Tony shrugs, and he thinks maybe he should pull back the faceplate but-- there is something about her that comes off as being a little bit threatening and he would rather not expose his fleshy bits just yet.
no subject
Well, not so much an opinion as a stare and slow tilt of her head.
"If I hear a metal 'ding' coming from your armour, y'know, I might be impressed enough to change my mind. Until then, it'll stay a threat." Nope, there it is, robot culture doesn't typically indulge in flirtations — and the kind she's seen aglow with neon paint pairing with very open-minded humans weren't anything like this guy.
Look, she's even easing out of her tension and adopting a particularly smug look up at him, shaved brow quirking. Call that a great success on Tony's part for not scuffing up his armour with machine pistol rounds. At least he can monitor where exactly the dangers are, the machine pistol at rest against her belt and the heavily modded body she wears as a source of continual pride. They're relatively easy to see with a combination of the dimness coming from strips of lights along the hangar's ceiling and an ambient purple-pink from, well, her.
Sombra's hand finds a hip and lets the curiosity get the better of her. Because, uh, why not? They're in the middle of nowhere, she can't get her fucking fix from any of the future-tech around here, and there's a plain-to-see technological marvel (lol) right here in from of her. Goooood evening, Tony.
"Were spying on me?" She offers the truth, studying the armour openly. "Don't worry, I won't get mad."
no subject
There is a moment, the readings behind the faceplate screaming at him about weapons and power surges and 'danger danger' (actually, maybe that was Friday), but Tony can see the way that, while on the defensive, the woman seemed slightly less likely to try and shoot him.
Right now.
It was only a matter of time before that urge returned.
There is a mechanical laugh at the questions before the faceplate flips up, revealing a very obviously amused human. Well, jury's out on that one, but yeah. Human.
"You know, I have been taught to know that, when I woman says that, there is no way to get out of the situation without her getting mad. So, are you trying to trap me, darling?" Not that he actually seems upset by the idea.
Actually, with the way he nearly leans against the wall, he is projecting interested.
Because women who might kill him are always worth the risk apparently.no subject
Wait a second, this guy recognizes him from stalking the network. He was talking to Gabe about his nanites. Bingo!
"Trap you? I'd rather trap your suit, there, hermoso." Honest to a fault when she is honest, head still cocked to the side, "You must be Tony — and FRIDAY, my new teammates. Welcome aboard..."
Yeah, okay, so she was stalking you.
Hard.
But that's because your network entry was so rife with interesting things about this, that, and the other tech thing. Something about battle, a suit, and an AI; very interesting things to note for a notorious hacker. She'd be hard-pressed to ignore something like that, especially when it directly involves her line of work. That she was just trying to force on this poor computer terminal, its screen flashing a very bright, very angry DEACTIVATED in emboldened red.
And it's shut up immediately with a casual flip of her hand, fingertips dragging contrails of pink pixels that follow their line of motion.
"Are you here to chastise me for this, or did I just beat you to it?"
no subject
And, for a moment, Tony wants to preen when he realizes that she is giving him a once over. That is until she speaks and then he really wants to preen. Clutching as his heart, Tony bats his eyes and smirks. "Ah, a woman after my own heart! The suit is pretty impressive, sadly, kind of picky about who it works with."
You know, when it isn't developing a sentience all its own and whatnot.
When Sombra names him though, an eyebrow goes up. "Hmm, well known even in space, how lovely. Pleasure to meet you, do I get a name in exchange? Or is it one of those fun games where I guess, Rumplestilskin style?" By which he means he pulls a you and tries to hack it from somewhere in the logs on this ship. Because he is going to crack the damned thing no matter how many times it might kick him out.
Which it seems to be doing right now.
With the brow staying up, Tony's gaze flickers behind her to the terminal behind her that is clearly displeased with whatever she was trying to do to it. It makes something twitch on Tony's face.
Something like amusement.
Amusement that looks hella onboard with whatever the hell you just did. Wow. Hold on a second there. Tony blinks, then all but tripping over himself to get closer because:" Damn, that was hot. You should do that again. And explain it because science." He flashes another lightbulb grin. "And you beat me to it. Had a hard time figuring out where would be the quietest place to access a terminal. Not going so well?"
no subject
That paints a pretty picture already. Dear god, two edge-lords for Tony to talk to.
Hand pressing onto the crown of the terminal, content to stand there and beholden the sleek design of — well — all of what's in front of her. She's no stranger to being impressed by a coupling of human and tech, before, as she's something of a body mod connoisseur, but the man looks very confident in what he's showing outwardly. Sombra's never been one to miss an opportunity to indulge.
A laugh, sudden.
"If I had to do it again, it'd be to your mouth, but I don't think a nice one like yours is gonna have anything more than silver fillings." Pretty easy-going, comfortable chatting about her addiction like it ain't no thang... And, really, she hasn't met someone this optimistic since Karamatsu and man, that is not ever something to be proud of. "I tried the ones in the medical bay and the others on the way, but Eluvio's crew has some serious firewalls happening here. Getting reaaal tempting to just pay one of them a visit and lift one of their dog-tags..."
Sighing, "If they even have shit like that. If that didn't work, my next idea was going to get really mean. How about you?"
