starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight ℼ semi-open [?]

WHO: Tiny SnarkTony Stark, Jim Kirk, Grumpy Cat McCoy... YOU?!
WHERE: All over. And the Enterprise.
WHEN: Backdated to February 10th
WHAT: Tony is a paranoid bastard and goes on an adventure in the suit
WARNINGS: Tony he is a warning, language, will update if needed

In between waking up (alive) in the middle of space, with no chance of going back to whatever the fuck might be left of his world, his friends, and making his presence known on the network, Tony decides that he is going to make the best of this ridiculous ship and space. Not that he believes that he was brought here by accident, oh no, there is far too much kept in the shadows and far too little information handed out here for things to be on 'accident' as far as he is concerned.

And the suspicions weren't exactly unfounded, especially when he delved further into the communications logs that he could get a hold of (read: could hack into) and he found out about the mess of a mission that had happened just prior to his arrival.

Yeah. Something was up but--

Well, maybe he was just paranoid.

Either way, the genius knows that, if he wants to get a head start on this place, he has to know it. And has to make sure that his suit is up to the task of carting him around in space. Theoretically, it was fine, it had worked in space before, but-- paranoia, right?

So Tony has gone on a little exploration of the ship, inside and out. He has FRIDAY fully integrated into his suit thanks to his STARKphone still being in pieces on the desk in his room (he was going to find a communication device to splice into it, he was) and he intended to make sure that there was a rendering of whatever space he could get into stored in the phone.

He was going to have to make himself a private server sooner rather than later. And cloud. And probably network.

Shit, he had his work cut out for him.

But first, exploration!

Tony dons the suit, shifts it to stealth mode and wanders his way down to the hanger. Firstly because, he might as well start from the bottom, and secondly--

There is a low, mechanical sounding whistle as Tony looks out at one of the space ships that happens to be flying with the Eluvio. It is pretty fucking spectacular looking, in that way that expertly crafted machinery could be.

"FRIDAY, you think it will be frowned upon if I took a look at her more closely?"

If it were possible to hear an eyeless artificial intelligence roll its non-existent eyes, Tony is sure he would have heard it right then.

Would you like me to ask the ship out for you, Boss?

"Nope, just gonna go say hi myself, I think."

And with that, Tony is throwing himself into the void (more or less literally) with only the vague hope that the suit hasn't been tampered with (his initial diagnostic didn't come up with anything, and FRIDAY said that it was good, so--) and a low, whoop of joy as he was airborn. Spaceborn. Whatever.

Incoming, USS Enterprise, there is an Iron Man coming aboard.

[ ooc: Clearly you may come across Tony in the suit wherever you would like to. The shit on the Enterprise is the closed bit. Because... uh. Whatever. Also, YEAH I KNOW THIS IS LIKE A WEEK OUT OF DATE I'm so sorry. ; ; ]

Jim isn't particularly inspired with trust right now, not even when the mask flips open to reveal there's a man inside the armor. His pistol stays trained on him too at first, until Jim gets some idea of who the guy is and what he wants— and how the hell he got into his ship unnoticed until he was actually inside.

"If you'd gone to the trouble of sending a message to the ship, then you'd know," Jim offers, not at all helpfully at this point, but he is a little pissed and still on edge, so. "We're not opposed to visits but we do like knowing they're coming."

He lowers his pistol finally, though not easing up on the grip. He doesn't think the guy's here to attack them, for what it's worth, but he's not so stupid that he'd just trust him blindly right off the bat.

"Captain James T. Kirk," then nodding towards Bones. "Dr. Leonard McCoy. How did you get into the ship?"

Most everything he did in these kind of scenarios was watch how Jim reacted. And even if Jim was lowering the phaser, he could see that tell-tale tension in his shoulders that said he didn't trust the intruder. Still, he figured that armor was likely to fend off a stun attack as it was. Being a doctor, he didn't like the idea of switching the phaser to 'kill'. Lethal maneuvers seemed like a bad idea. But then, they always seemed wrong to him even if they were necessary.

Regardless, even if he lowered the weapon, he kept it in hand at his side as Jim talked to the stranger. Tony? Whoever he was, he really needed a healthy dose of manners. "Didn't your parents teach ya how to knock?" Rolling his eyes, he moved to stand just behind Jim at his side.

Nodding once with the introduction, he glanced back at Jim and asked in a low voice. "Anyway we can check if he really is a new arrival?"

"Yeah? Well, clearly your AI is smarter than you. Should listen to it more often," Jim tosses back, coming out more like a jab at Tony than anything else. He's a little calmer now, at least, but he's not going to forget the scare anytime soon, nor trust this guy just yet. Especially knowing what he likely did to get on board.

"You ask the captain," he offers pointedly, eyebrow raised. "Which is what she would have done if you really had asked her." Don't you try your bullshit on him. He knows his ship, alright. As for the name, he doesn't answer for now. Not like Tony needs to know it just yet. He turns his head to Bones instead, nodding at the doctor's suggestion, then back to the stranger as he steps out of his suit.

Which only really surprises him more, and he nearly startles when the suit's just left behind like an armor. Talk about beautiful technology... it's like a space suit, only it can actually fly and be perfectly controlled while doing so. But that's something to be awed about later. Right now he eyes the tag and nods, free hand reaching out. "Let me have a look."

Seriously. Why did this guy have to make the entire entry process onto the Enterprise sound like a dirty vid? Frowning sharply at the man, he rolled his eyes. Like hell he was bringin’ up that thought. Jim would just get more irritated and make him want to slap the stranger all the more. If nothing else, his psychology senses were tingling and he knew he could have a field day with this guy.

Not that he wanted to. That took effort and gettin’ to know someone. Granted, His ask for a name made him snort. “Either you can’t read or you’re just an idiot.” The name was only written across the saucer clear as day and if the guy was flyin’ about in space and missed it? Well, let’s just say Leonard is unimpressed.

His eyes moved to the tags and then back to Jim. He didn’t like the idea of Jim getting closer, but at least he ditched the metal tincan armor. Whatever the hell it was. He just looked at it with a lot of distrust as he often did most technology that wasn’t medical. Granted, where he was not entirely impressed, one glance of Jim told him his best friend was enamoured.

Good lord. If the guy was a friendly, this could go one of two ways. They’d either get on great and talk about their love of metal objects or hate each other cause of that competitive spirit. Not that he was lookin’ forward to either outcome to be honest.

It was partly an insult, but partly also the truth, honestly. Even if this guy might've created the thing, artificial intelligence should have the ability to surpass its own creator eventually. In theory, anyway. Jim isn't exactly an expert, and even in his world he couldn't say that AI's are a reality. Certainly not common or public knowledge, at the very least.

An eyebrow raises when Tony winks at Bones, but he says nothing to it, just taking the tags as they're offered and taking a step back again, just for good measure. Lifting up his wrist comm, he hooks up Tony's tag into it, so he can at least take a look at his information.

"Anthony Edward Stark," he says almost casually. Because hey, look at that Mr. Smartass, you're not the only one who can find out full names. "Earth, early 21st century... he got here a few days ago." Said as he turns to the side and glances at Bones, pulling the tag back out. Because he might want to know who this guy is but he's not going to do the same he did and go snooping around where he shouldn't.

"I'm not going to let you poke around my ship, so what else do you want?"

“That would quantify as an idiot. Unless you prefer the illiterate option.” He arched a brow at that wink, and finally rolled his eyes. Egotistical assholes just fell from space obviously. He only had room for so many egos in his life and Jim filled that quota. Which was why he let Jim deal with this. Minus the fact he didn’t want Jim stuck with a stranger alone, he would much rather be in medical setting up more programs for first aid training.

And what was up with all the stupid nicknames? He gave up years ago on the one Jim gave him, but he decided it best not to even address this one for right now.

Instead he watched the exchange and let his eyes shift back to Jim when he turned to look at him. So, now they had a name for their uninvited guest. Letting his eyes drift over to the armor again, he could easily realize that for the moment, he wasn’t going to pull anything. If he was, he wouldn’t have stepped out of that contraption. So he settled into the at ease position, his arms moving to cross over his chest in a clear state of annoyance over the whole ordeal.

“So, does that mean you’re gonna give him a guided tour? Cause I get the feelin’ he’s not just goin’ to politely step off the ship and leave.” He looked way too persistent for that. And boys and their damn toys. Honestly, he rather do anything but escort this guy around, but once again he was reminded that Jim might need back up. “Regardless, I’d say insist that tin can be left in here if he wants to see anything other than this area.”
