[open] i heard about a whirlwind that's coming 'round

WHO: Thor and YOOOUUuuuuu
WHERE: All around Eluvio
WHEN: The early hours of Feb 14th and possibly some stuff a little after
WHAT: The power outages hit, Thor goes into action mode. He's around trying to help people and figure out what the fresh hell is going out.
WARNINGS: Nah.

One. lights out + by the windows and around:
[Thor had been enjoying a peaceful moment of quiet reflection by the windows in the early hours of the morning. It's soothing to look out into the wide, open span of the galaxy and watch the other ships in the fleet join them on their travels. Peaceful as it may be, it's also frustrating. He'd rather be far, far into the depths of space and away from here and not wasting time participating in a mission he was never interested in. He's still sulking about all of this, don't judge him.

He's so lost in his thoughts he'll need a breadcrumb trail to get out of them- or an explosion, perhaps. When the first ship goes up in flames it gives him pause, but he's quick to act before the next ship begins to follow suit. He sticks his arm out, hand open in the air for a few seconds before his hammer flies into it. It's possible it flew right past you up the halls, or maybe it swerves past you when it approaches Thor's hands.

Regardless, Thor is on the case. He has no idea where he's heading, but he's listening to screams, sounds of distress or worse- more explosions.]

Two. zero gravity + closed doors:
[It seems like the explosions have ended with just the two ships, for whatever reason. The excitement hasn't stopped, however. The lights flicker and eventually die off, but it doesn't stop Thor from wandering the halls in search of a source of trouble or a person in need.

Eventually, the gravity starts to go and Thor begins to float upward. The hammer is somewhat burdensome when you're trying to navigate your way through ceilings and walls, but he feels it pertinent to keep a hold of it.

That said, when he happens upon closed doors with voices behind them. He will allow the hammer to sink back down to the ground while he braces himself in front of the doors.]

Stand back! I will release you!

[That's his first and final warning before he positions himself into a position where he can grip the ceiling and deliver some swift, hard bunny kicks to the door in an attempt to muscle it open. If he can break it even a little, he'll proceed to try wrenching and prying it open from the side. If he can't break it open, he won't abandon anyone, even if it means talking to someone through a door to keep them calm.]

Three. gravity returns:
[Eventually, the gravity returns, not with a flicker but with a thud. At least, Thor thuds. He lands heavily on his feet, glancing upward at the full height of the walls and ceiling and noting that there is someone gripping the wall for dear life.]

You'll have to come down eventually. [He urges, holding out his arms.] Come now, I won't drop you.

Four. wildcard:
[Something else in mind? Feel free to wing it, PM me or PP me @squishyfeet.]
remainingtwin: (That I may not return.)

Three!

[Mio had never really thought of herself as someone who'd be afraid of heights, but floating around in zero-gravity for a while has certainly given her a new appreciation for the ground. That being said, however, she would've liked a little more warning before meeting it again, which is why her hands fly out to grasp something on the wall when the gravity suddenly turns back on.

This puts her in an entirely new problem, however, since now she has to figure out how to get down. Thor's voice makes her look over, expression skeptical and a touch irritated--not at him, but the entire situation.
]

Yeah, eventually. [Look maybe she likes it up here the view is nice??

Okay no. She looks nervous and shifts her weight as if to try and find a way down on her own. It doesn't look good.
] Is jumping the only way?
remainingtwin: (retains the pain.)

[this is clearly the most serious of matters, how dare thor be amused.

Not that Mio would be doing much better if the situations were reversed. She reaches for a fixture just out of her reach, swinging her hand uselessly at it. If she could grab it maybe she could... No, okay there's really nowhere to go from there either. Her body wobbles and she snatches her hand back to cling tighter to the section of the wall she's already got a good hold on, eyes wide.

She's only half-paying attention to him, but the concept of flying has her whipping her head around to look at him in excited surprise.
] You can fly? Really fly? [sign her the fuck up]
remainingtwin: (I'm dancing under these bright lights)

[personal profile] remainingtwin 2017-02-21 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mio makes a strangled yelping noise that might have been a curse if she could have managed to be articulate. Holy shit. Flying hammers? What even is this.

She's too much on autopilot after that to bother arguing, so she scrambles off the fixture to cling to him instead.
]

W-wait, how are we getting back down? [Just fall?? Jump down? Mio has some regrets about this]
remainingtwin: (The sadness in my heart)

[personal profile] remainingtwin 2017-02-26 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Mio makes a small 'yip' noise and clings to him tightly, instinctively squeezing her eyes shut.

When she realizes they've stopped moving and she's still alive, she gratefully climbs off of him to stand on slightly unsteady feet. She never thought she'd be so happy to see the ground holy shit.
]

I--Yeah. I see. [Now she feels a little silly for her fear, even if it was perfectly justified at the time.] ...My name's Mio. Thanks for helping me, Mr...? [She trails off, prompting.]
remainingtwin: (None of my love remains.)

[personal profile] remainingtwin 2017-02-26 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well I'm glad we met now. Otherwise I might still be stuck up on the wall. [and her arms had begun to ache. It wouldn't have been pretty.

Speaking of, she rubs at her upper arms a moment and shakes her head
] No, I'm fine, more or less. If the gravity's back on, does that mean everything's finally back to normal...? [Mio sighs, looking exasperated and irritated.]

Whatever 'normal' means in this place, anyway.

[The loss of gravity is, by far, the worst part. He's been stuck on dead ships before--even if most don't seem to die out of nowhere like this--but even the Force can't be flawlessly manipulated the mimic the right physics. If he could get to the door, he could find a way to force it open (or cut it open, if necessary), but so far, the grumbling on his side of that door is the frustration of it staying still out of reach. That only stops when he hears something of an answer from the door's other side.]

Good luck. [Though he's not entirely sure how much he trusts anything to happen. It's said as he pushes off the adjacent wall with what he hopes is enough force to get him nearer to the door.] You're going to need it.

[personal profile] ex_forcechoke292 2017-03-01 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't expect to hear anything from the other side of that door aside from the occasional awkward thud due to the lack of (literal) grounding. The fact that the door is moving at all is nothing short of impressive.

Enough so that whatever quip he'd had prepared about "knowing better" dies immediately.]

Anakin....uh. Skywalker. Anakin Skywalker.

[Yes, most definitely sounds like an expert when he can't even get a hold on the door like he needs to, nor can he manipulate the space around it to get him there. The posturing fails almost immediately, and there's an annoyance underneath the awkward fumbling with two words he should know better than any other.]

What do I call you? If you don't kill yourself trying to get that thing open?

[personal profile] ex_forcechoke292 2017-03-08 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
[He never has been exceptional at introductions. He does at least manage a chuckle at how absolutely absurd this situation has become. The lacking gravity is a nuisance on any occasion, but stuck without any real connection to the door he has no hope of getting open is, in a word, pathetic. He should be able to handle this on his own just fine.

And yet, here they are.]

Well, I had been planning on throwing a party later... [No, he hadn't. He doesn't sound nearly broken up enough about it for that to remotely resemble the truth, but it takes some of the edge off of his frustration.] Yes, I'm alone. How did you get saddled with door duty?

[personal profile] ex_forcechoke292 2017-03-14 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you meant to play to your strengths, it seems you chose right.

[He manages to push himself closer to the door, but not quite within arm's reach just yet. He tries to reach out with his mind, but finds it more like trying to swim upstream: there's little to latch onto. But as the door gives a fraction, he finds that maybe that's the Force's way of telling him to stop abusing the simplest answer and accept help when it's given.

He gives a soft huff at the thought.]

I'm impressed.

[And while it might be incredibly pompous (it is), he does sound it too.]
