re-l's young and uptight and probably self-conscious about something like this, so a good person would leave her to her misadventures. but carolina's really only a decent person, so there's the dull clack of thick-heeled boots joining her at the viewing window - and carolina's half dressed up herself, her hair in loose curls instead of a ponytail, her clothing choices fitting in well enough in the city - before a pointed throat clearing.
proper greetings are overrated. ]

[ There had been every intention in her mind to completely ignore whoever it was that had stepped up next to her - that was the norm in cities after all - unless it was someone you knew there was no need for words or anything like that. Hell, in Romdeau she could go entire days without speaking to someone other than Iggy provided that no one started on that jag of "Oh, the regent's granddaughter!"
That was the plan, at least until she hears the throat clear, brows furrowing as she turns to look, as if annoyed -
Oh.
There's a moment where her eyes go wide, and the only thing Re-L can think to say is: ]
You need to get better boots.

Didn't expect to see you hanging around here.

Curiosity killed the cat is the popular expression. [ Or curiosity embarrassed Re-L - but that's hardly anything more than a detail. Suffice to say that Re-L Mayer simply could not help herself, but she'd lingered outside of the gates for a very long time before finally giving in to her curiosity. And, thankfully, she'd not even been hassled about being old enough or something that would have forced her to speak to anyone for longer than a few moments.
If they had she might've had enough time to come to her senses, but no. Instead she'd thought she'd make a quick pace, put her hood up, and she definitely wouldn't run in to Carolina, and yet here she stands.
Next to Carolina. ]
You didn't strike me as the type to engage in places like this either. Aliens peek your interest?
[ Of course Carolina would be in to aliens. It made perfect sense. ]
