( open ) everyone knows what has got me
WHO: James T. Kirk & YOU!
WHERE: Bajikan
WHEN: March 8th onwards
WHAT: Jim's exploring some areas of the planet, and keeping a safe distance from others.
WARNINGS: Violence, drinking, possible light drug use??? And nudity in one thread.
Falling onto a planet's orbit felt like a stroke of good luck, at last. Granted, a lot of things could still go wrong, but finally there was a chance that they might work out the power issues currently plaguing the entire fleet, and that, along with the opportunity to get his feet back down on solid ground, had Jim feeling a little optimistic.
And after that long being trapped in his ship with only auxiliary power working, he was exhausted and definitely ready for some down time.
Still, there was only so much he'd be willing to relax. While the Eluvio got a team together to try and acquire whatever supplies they needed, Jim chose to stay out of it this time. He'd keep his eyes and ears peeled in case of trouble, but honestly after the mess in Oros, he didn't want any part in it this time around. So he did exactly what a Starfleet officer would do on a brand new planet, and got ready to explore and gather information about Bajikan, so he could learn and —hopefully— take with him as much as he could about how the place worked.
It was a strange set-up, he'd give it that. He eyed the tokens curiously as he took in all the information about each of the different districts, and soon decided on his course of action.
First of all, Luxuria was out of the question, not without him being sure of how strong the effects could be on him. Though not averse to intimacy, he wasn't about to risk getting involved with anyone without consent being a crystal clear thing between all parties involved, and as much as he'd like to at least catch a glimpse of that district, he scratched it off the list with little hesitance.
As for the rest, though... well, he could be easily found in some of them, often times strolling around and taking notes, but engaging in different activities depending on the district.
While in Gula, he could be easily found at one of the many restaurants and food stands, stuffing his face with all the dishes on offer, or at various bars, going through their endless list of drinks and cocktails. At least he was a funny drunk these days, so it might be entertaining to stick around for it.
Avaritia offered a strange feeling he wasn't really used to, the feeling of desperately wanting to own things. And he indulged quite a lot there, with both the savings on his account and the nice deposit he received thanks to one special plant. He'd be at different clothing stores with piles on piles of clothes he was trying on, or the odd bookstore here or there, stacking up books he was definitely intent on buying. Yes, all of them.
He wasn't very sure about Ira, but eventually decided to risk it, if only to try and see if he could find some different weapons there. The effects of the air in the district took their toll on him quickly enough, so at one point or another he could be found around one of those arena fights, eyeing the place and possibly considering joining in, or he might even get a little aggressive when simply bumping into someone on the street. Either way, throwing some punches around might become a very real possibility.
Lastly, Superbia seemed fairly harmless, so Jim saw no problem with taking a look. Not at all to his surprise, the whole place was catered to people wanting to better themselves in a myriad of different ways, and strangely enough he liked the thought of that. He may be found at some spa or another, enjoying a weird beauty treatment, or maybe even deciding that yes, now was the perfect time to learn proper ballroom dancing, to such a level that it would shock people with how good he was. And damn if he wasn't good at it. (Strangely enough, he'd realize later on that this was the district where he felt the least different from himself. Go figure.)

Still, it didn't dissuade Bones from making his way over when Jim mentioned the distance, so he didn't say anything else, staying still and quiet like a promise of good behavior would convince the doctor that it was perfectly safe to get closer. And it was, really; as much fun as it'd be to prank the doctor, it also might involve a lot of physical closeness that Jim wasn't so sure he could handle without it turning a little awkward.
And, well... maybe he wouldn't mind something like that, but Bones was his best friend and he wasn't about to make a move when he didn't know if he'd want that too.
He did swat at the water surface once Bones was next to him, just splashing his chest a little but not reaching his face. "Shut up, jerk. I'm just here to enjoy this place peacefully." However, his next remark, as his eyes moved up the wall of the cavern, didn't exactly come off as peaceful. "What if I use these vines to climb the wall?"

But for a long while since after Jim... died... he was still trying to tell himself he was just fine with the lack of closeness with him. Looking away from Jim, he rolled his eyes without heat when he was splashed. Leaning his head back against the wall, he stared up at the cave roof slowly. Damn it, but he needed to get over all of those insecurities.
Arching a brow as he looked back at Jim, he let out a soft snort. "Peacefully, my ass. Not with fool hardy ideas like climbing the damn wall in your birthday suit on something as unstable as vines." Sending him a disapproving look, he finally closed his eyes as he used that press of the back of his head to the wall as a slight anchor to his body. He just hoped Jim would get over that stupid ass idea.

A soft chuckle left him at the reaction his question got from the doctor, which was pretty much what he was expecting to hear. Well, short of Bones yelling his ear off about what a reckless thrill-seeker he could be. "Alright, alright! I won't climb the wall, chill. No need to get your panties in a twist."
Metaphorical panties. Not that Bones wore panties. (Oh my God, mental images.)

Enough to even ignore that panties comment and just give him a small scowl in return. "Sue me for liking you in one piece." Leonard snorted softly and reached out to catch Jim's wrist and draw his arm out into the water between them. Not looking at him, his hand glided softly down from his wrist till his fingers could slot between Jim's just a little.
"Probably should be ashamed of myself for liking having so much time with you. Sure you're probably sick of me being around all the time lately." At least before, back where they were from, they had their work so Jim didn't get stuck living in each other's pockets like this. And where he kind of loved it, he didn't know if Jim did. He didn't have hopes that ran too high in that department.

Jim's lips curled faintly when he felt Bones's hand slide down from his wrist. He shouldn't, really, because friends probably didn't hold hands like this, but in his defense, Bones started it, and Jim was taking that as a sign of sorts that this was perfectly alright.
So his own fingers weaved through Bones's a little more firmly, curling until their palms pressed together. Then he tried to swallow down the rapid beating trapped halfway up his chest. "I'll never be sick of having you around, Bones," he muttered, tone turning a hint more amused as he went on to add. "And hey, no shame. You know that's so not my thing."

Squeezing his hand softly, he leaned closer till their shoulders touched softly. Turning until their eyes met, he lifted a brow just slightly at him. "Never, huh? Good for me." He let himself smile. The expression pulling at his lips and warming his lips as his eyes drifted over Jim's face.
Huffing a laugh, he shook his head and smiled a little more as his head dipped forward. "Regardless of it being your thing... not so ashamed of you know... following you where you go."
