[some open prompts] What a Way to Make an Entrance

WHO: Osomatsu and various, and YOU
WHERE: the Eluvio, Bajikan
WHEN: during the fleet's orbit of Bajikan
WHAT: Osomatsu appears! he makes new friends, finds his brothers, and has a grand old time on the planet where dreams come true...?
WARNINGS: swearing, substance use, and adult themes, probably. shouldn't be too bad

I) before Mar 8 - Eluvio - Shopping Centre [ota]

[so, this was it. outer space! Osomatsu has barely been on the Eluvio for a day, and he's already searching for a bar. he's got a lot on his mind. he's wondering how exactly he arrived... sure, there was a presentation, and some kind of explanation, but he had barely listened, because it was boring. and he couldn't understand the parts he did listen to. so he's left wondering why, and how. and if he'll ever get home.

at the same time. he's in freaking outer space! that's cool as anything! it's cool enough to almost make him forget about the crap he was going through at home. yeah, where his brothers all left the house...

it's been weeks since he's seen Choromatsu, and a little less time since he's seen the others. and he knows at least one of them is on this very ship, since one of the crew members made a comment about him already going through orientation. he doesn't know which brother it is yet, but he's going to find out.... mmmmaybe later. because he's not certain he can deal with it right now.

he wants to get drunk first! so Osomatsu is looking around the Shopping Centre, since he was told that was where he would find food and drink. he's passed a couple bars already, but he hasn't seen one that strikes his fancy yet. he pauses outside one of them, rubbing his chin in thought]

How's the food here? [he'll ask to anyone that's nearby]

II) Mar 9 - Eluvio - Black Market [ota]

[ha! a black market! on the fleet! no way! the rumors were right. it has all sorts of fun things to play with! your character maybe told Osomatsu about this place, or even escorted him there, because he wouldn't have been able to find it on his own. now you... can't stop him... he's rushing from stand to stand, looking at all the neat weapons]

Man, this is so cool! [we're all just waiting for him to say, what does this button do, and blow up the ship... better keep him on a leash, or something]

III) after Mar 9 - Bajikan - Avaritia [closed to Dorothy]

[when learning about the different districts of Bajikan, Osomatsu knew almost instantly that he wanted to go to Avaritia. legal gambling? casinos? seriously?! how could he pass that up? he doesn't have a lot of money, but maybe he could win some...

he breathes in the air, feeling great. it smells like fresh cash, and it instantly clouds his head with the desire for more, more than what he has, more of everything. he's not paying attention to anything happening in front of him while he's walking, because his gaze is pulled in every direction. so he runs right into a young lady. whoops!]

A-a-ahh! Sorry! Are you okay?

IV) mid Mar - Bajikan - Ira [ota]

[as much as Osomatsu loves Avaritia, he wants to check out some of the other districts, as well. he visits each of them, stays longer in some than in others. and then he finally finds his way to Ira. Ira makes him feel... complicated. his thoughts return to his brothers, and how they left him, and he becomes angry. he wants to fight.

maybe your character sees him trying to pick on someone twice his size. maybe Osomatsu is trying to get you to fight him! whatever the case may be, this NEET is way out of his league, but he's upset. he'll take on you, and you, and, what the hell, you, too! he's going to pretend you're Choromatsu and punch you in your stupid face!]

V) mid Mar - Bajikan - Acedia [closed to Karamatsu]

[someone finally managed to pull Osomatsu away from Ira. that... that was rough, man. h shouldn't have gone in there. how nice it is, once he gets to Acedia, where he feels so peaceful. he wants to relax, spend the rest of his days here.

at some point, or another, Osomatsu finds an opium den. and he decides to crash there for a while. he's lounging on a big red pillow, in cozy pajamas, inhaling the drug from a pipe and wondering what he's been doing with his life. this place... maybe he should stay here! no one would force him to get a job, he could be free and everyone would be nice and friendly... yeah, sounds like a good idea to him...]

[maaaan this is great. Osomatsu is completely immersed in... this culture? whatever it is that he's in. he loves it. he feels sleepy, and happy. and he should probably put down the pipe now, because too much of this stuff is really bad for you. ah, he'll pass it along to the next person that's coming in]

Heeeeeyyy. [he drawls, attempting to push himself up into a seated position. his body feels heavy, but he manages to lift his head] You wanna try so... some of... [wait, that person looks strangely familiar, wearing that leather jacket and those boots. who is that? oh, don't tell him! he knows!] Ka.... Karamachuu?

_{[ Of all the times and places to bump into his older brother, it's here. Karamatsu didn't even know that Osomatsu was here as he left for Bajikan before new passengers began appearing. He doesn't know what this will do, but he's willing to try, so he sits next to the nearest person to a clear spot he can find only to see...

Karamatsu rubs his eye that isn't healing from being blacked out and squints before a sharp gasp raises in his chest. ]}

O.. Osomatsu-niisan...!?
_{[ boy, he's got a lot to tell you, but first: ]}

A—ah! My brother! Are you alright!?
_{[ family comes first. ]}

[it... it really is Karamatsu! Osomatsu can hardly believe it. he's seen Ichimatsu already, sure, and knew that Karamatsu was on board the Eluvio, but the eldest brothers somehow kept missing each other. that was fine, though! because here they were, now, and the last time Osomatsu had seen Karamatsu was when he... he, uh... left the house.

...you know, Osomatsu would probably be really cheesed off about seeing Karamatsu again if he were in any other district. but because he's in Acedia, and pretty high, everything is groovy, man. just perfect]

I-I'm fine! [he says as he crawls to get off the pillow, but he completely misses the drop down and goes tumbling to the floor. but don't worry! he's all right! he's laughing because he found that hilarious] I'm still fine! I'm great! Hi!

_{[ Karamatsu stares at him with a baffled expression. Whatever he was smoking, it was.. certainly really good. And usually, Karamatsu would probably stray away from whatever Osomatsu was getting into, but he just.. feels really terrible right now. ]}

... give me that.

_{[ He takes the pipe from his brother, obviously looking tense and for some reason can't look at him directly. He sounds irritated when he speaks, closing his eyes. ]}

How come you didn't come look for me when you got here? _{[ he doesn't guess it matters now, but.. ]}

Never mind. There is, ah.. a lot you need to know, my brother. I'm very blessed you know you're here.

[there were a lot of reasons why Osomatsu did not seek Karamatsu out right off the bat. selfish reasons, mostly. but Osomatsu is totally not thinking about those right now. he is thinking about what Karamatsu says next, that he's blessed to know that Osomatsu is here.

the happiness Osomatsu feels increases tenfold. though, when he gets up, he seems to finally notice that... Karamatsu looks like shit. he crawls away from his pillow, over into Karamatsu's space, getting up on his knees and gingerly reaching for his face]

The hell h-happened to you? What happened to your eye?

_{[ go home, niisan, you're drunk. ]}

_{[ Karamatsu actually grimaces when Osomatsu gets closer to him and even tries reaching for his face, leaning back away as if he didn't want to be touched. He's certain the air in Acedia and whatever Osomatsu was smoking is what is making him feel concerned for him— but then again, Osomatsu did worry about all of his brothers, even Karamatsu.

He idly bats his brother's hand away, not hard at all. Guess he has no choice but to make his grand statement: ]}

Hmph. I got in a fight in Ira.

[aww! Osomatsu sits back then. fine, fine, he won't touch. but he is concerned. whether that is just the air, or the opium remains to be seen]

Oh yeah? Me too! [he grins again, feeling proud] Got my ass kicked, but I'm okay now! [a few scratches and bruises weren't enough to stop him]

_{[ He doesn't really like Osomatsu's carefree response, for whatever reason. He feels like he deserves a little more sympathy even if he's being fussy right now. ]}

I see. If you're.. well, I suppose I am also well.
_{[ It's kind of awkward. He isn't well— he's not well a lot, but he hates letting people see that cowardly, weak side of him. He wants to be thought of as strong— so cool! Somebody who is easy to appreciate. For Osomatsu to be in a fight and then just okay, he'll look really weak if he said something about his physical and psychological damage right now.

Finally, he closes his eyes and takes a drag from the pipe. ]}

... for awhile, Ichimatsu wasn't well, though.
_{[ He refuses to say he wasn't well when they found Rey's body, even though he wast he one puking on camera when they made the announcement. ]}

[geez, Karamatsu... what have you gone through? SO MUCH apparently. and Osomatsu has no idea]

When is he ever well? [a joke, really! Osomatsu chuckles to himself, leaning back a little in his spot, still seated on the floor in front of Karamatsu] Is he okay now, though?

Hmph. I don't know. We haven't really been speaking.
_{[ oh... ]}

It's wrong of me to stay angry at him, isn't it? After all, if something happens to him, it would be my fault, wouldn't it? I'm the one that has been taking watch over him since nobody else has been here. Yes, scorn me all you want for abandoning him, but I wasn't going to simply sit on the ship and not volunteer.

_{[ and there he goes with another hit.. ]}

[.......??????]

Uh. [Osomatsu's smile fades. he wasn't even judging Karamatsu at all!] Did... Did something happen?

I don't know how much they informed you when you got here, but the ship's captain wanted volunteers to obtain parts that are on this planet to fix the malfunctions we are having.
I volunteered with the last mission, to escort our alien refugees onto the Eluvio since their planet faced a holocaust that would wipe them all out if not saved.

_{[ He's.. a bit iffy on those details, but it didn't matter. He helped, and he felt good about it. ]}

Though, when I mentioned what I was doing to Ichimatsu, he got mad about it and didn't want me to leave. Obviously, I am not assisting the mission, as after the interviews they found my skills lacking to help, but..

[hmmm... that's a lot of information for Osomatsu's drug-addled brain to comprehend. he squints his eyes as he listens, trying to concentrate]

Why would he be mad at you for something like that? [usually Ichimatsu hated everything Karamatsu did, though, so is it really a big surprise?]

_{[ Karamatsu shifts and looks away from Osomatsu, his lips curving in a slight frown. ]}

This place is dangerous.. enough for even Ichimatsu to worry about me.
_{[ His relationship with Ichimatsu was weird— he wasn't completely certain he understood how Ichimatsu felt about him as a brother. ]}

A—and that is why.. _{[ he's terrible— awful— for leaving their younger brother alone ]} I hope he is doing alright.

[so Ichimatsu got mad because he didn't want Karamatsu to go on a mission... because he was worried about him. huh. okay then. for some reason, that strikes Osomatsu as a little odd. or maybe that's just how he perceives it. he's not sure. it makes him wonder what all has happened here.

he finally nods, and pats Karamatsu's knee, then crawls back to his red pillow and climbs on. he makes himself comfortable before speaking again]

You say this place is dangerous... You mean this planet? Or... the spaceship?

_{[ Karamatsu shudders visibly, grimacing at the topic of conversation. He can still see so vividly in his mind— feel the sticky blood on his face as he walked innocently under a canopy of somebody else's organs and viscera, decorating sickeningly across the branches and leaves of the Atrium. He hasn't dared ventured to that part of Eluvio again, and it will probably take him awhile to.

His hand shakes slightly at the vivid memory, unable to speak for a moment. ]}

.. It's... dangerous, Osomatsu-niisan.
_{[ He's not in any condition to talk about it still. Last him he tried, he threw up several times. ]}

Please, if I cannot protect Ichimatsu, I hope you will. I know you will.
_{[ Osomatsu is a lot of things that Karamatsu thinks he isn't. Although the second eldest, he wishes he was the oldest, but somewhere in the back of his mind he knows he's not good enough to be. There he goes taking another hit and breathing out with a shaking breath, beginning to feel the effects of the opium in his body. It's what he needs, honestly.

If Osomatsu looks closely, he'll see his brother's skin slightly pale. ]}

[hm... not what he asked, but Karamatsu's reaction is pretty telling. he looks as though he's seen a ghost. what happened to him?

Osomatsu reaches over for Karamatsu again, wanting to rub his head, or his shoulder, or something]

Sure. Sure. I'll protect him. I'll protect both of you. [even though now Karamatsu is scaring him. Osomatsu's a big coward, you know!

maybe he should, ah, change the subject. to something light?]

So, I... Uh. I met Dorothy. She seems nice.

_{[ Oh, yeah— Dorothy. She's very nice, especially when she's got her body up against you, kissing you so tight. Yeah, Karamatsu likes Dorothy a lot, but for some reason, this topic of conversation is also sore— he's not ready to talk about it, but his response is more positive than the other. ]}

Ah, yes. A beautiful rose with the tendency to prick. A treasure chest filled with shimmering gold and silver, and yet, there is no key to be found.

_{[ what a weird reaction.
He forces out a small chuckle— and he's smiling slightly— it's really hard to tell how he feels about this, because otherwise he looks pretty serious about it. ]}

I'm glad to know you've met her as well. She is.. very easy on the eyes.

[Osomatsu grins a bit when he hears Karamatsu go back to his flowery language. that's better, normal. though, from the way he's talking, it sounds like Dorothy hurt him somehow... did she shoot Karamatsu down?]

She's all right, I guess. A little plain, but not in a bad way.

_{[ He wants to get angry at Osomatsu just callnig her "all right" and "a little plain" but the calming effects of the air and the drug just makes him kind of grunt in disagreement. Thinking of girls is a good distraction from all the bad stuff that has happened recently. Karamatsu thinks of several he's really been interested in, like Carolina, Sombra, Princess Allura— he's making a mental harem of them all and each one is beautiful in their own unique way. ]}

.. there's a lot of pretty girls here, Osomatsu-niisan. It helps with being far from home.
_{[ a beat, now it's time for him to bring up a sore subject since he's feeling a little careless: ]}

I'm sorry for leaving you— I felt terrible— guilty after the fact..
_{[ He wasn't sure what happened after he left their house, but somehow, he didn't know what Osomatsu was left on his own. ]}

[oh. so they were going to talk about this. Osomatsu almost feels sick for a brief moment. he stays calm, thanks to the air and the opium. but still... rough subject]

Hey, hey! It's in the past! [he grips Karamatsu's shoulder, gently shaking him. Osomatsu is a lot more angry about the subject than he can portray right now, but that's probably good. as long as they stay here, he's not going to be mad] You and I are here, now! Together again! Pretty soon, we'll all be together again!

_{[ And just like that? All is well. Karamatsu is a little ditzy when it comes to reading the atmosphere, so okay. All is well and that's great. We won't speak of how he betrayed loyalty to Osomatsu to go out and live his own. Awesome. Cool.
Karamatsu agrees, though, especially after seeing what can happen on this ship. ]}

It's better like that. I'm upset we are away from our home, but..
I believe we all can make a good living here until we can get back.

_{[ He believes there's a way..
And look, there's finally a smile, eyes half lidded as he feels himself completely mellow out. ]}

[this won't be the end of it, probably. but, for now? all is well! Osomatsu laughs, pulling his hand back and rubbing under his nose. Karamatsu looks much better with a smile]

You think we're gonna be able to get back home?

I know so.
I have faith in us, my brother.

_{[ He turns to look at Osomatsu, his smile only growing slightly.
He's relieved his only big brother is finally here, even if that means he's away from home as well. ]}

[aww! don't smile at him like that! it's too cute! it's too bad Karamatsu's face is all banged up. but still, it's a nice moment...

he finally tears his gaze away from his brother and flops down into the cushion]

I'm not sure it's faith in us that's gonna get us home, Karamatsu. When I got here, the video said something about our arrival being caused by "anomalies." [Osomatsu makes quotes with his fingers] That makes me think it's their fault we're here.
